Why should I take an ERRA training course?

For those who are involved in energy regulation it is essential to obtain Economic, legal, technical basics on functioning of the sector. ERRA has been organizing the Training Courses for its Members since 2003 and has developed a practice on knowledge transfer of the best energy regulatory practices. The ERRA Training Courses offer a working knowledge of regulatory economics, an understanding of policy impacts and the ability to navigate national policy processes, and effective agency management of the legal and organizational processes necessary for adequate “due-process” protection in regulatory activities, and therefore the key to becoming a successful regulator.

What is the fastest way to register?

The fastest way and the most preferred method to register is online at http://www.erranet.org/Training/Intermediate_Advanced_Training/Price_Regulation_and_Tariffs_2008/Register_Now
Other options include registering by fax to fax No.: +36 1477 0455; by e-mail to e-mail address: secretariat@erranet.org or courier.

How early should I register?

ERRA encourages participants to register as early as possible. It is important to register early as the space is limited to 30 pax in each track. For those who require a visa for entry to Hungary, the earlier the registration the better to start the visa procedure since it may take 30 days.

How late can I register?

Registration will close on March 14, 2008. You may contact ERRA for space availability after that date, but ERRA will not guarantee space availability. Again, it is best to register as early as possible.

How long will it be before I know whether or not my application has been accepted?

Applicants' registration forms are reviewed within 24 hours after receipt. Applicants should hear about the status of their applications within 24 hours of registration.

Do I need a visa to attend ERRA Training Programs?

To determine if you need a visa, please contact the relevant Embassy/Consulate in your country
http://www.kulugyminiszterium.hu/kum/en/bal/missions/missions_abroad/embassies_consulates/
or visit the following website for visa requirement information http://www.erranet.org/Training/Intermediate_Advanced_Training/Price_Regulation_and_Tariffs_2008/Visa_Information

Please make necessary arrangements with the relevant embassy/consulate in your country well in advance of travel plans since the visa application process is quite lengthy and may take 30 days. Upon admission to the Training, candidates will receive a letter of invitation, which can be used to assist in visa processing. Acceptance to attend the ERRA training program does not guarantee that participants will be granted a Visa. It is the applicant's responsibility to comply with the requirements set by the host country Embassy/Consulate in his/her locality. ERRA is unable, however, to send direct correspondence to an Embassy/Consulate on the applicant's behalf unless instructed to do so by the Embassy/Consulate.

How will arrangements for lodging be made?

Participants will be accommodated at the European Youth Center Budapest (Zivatar u. 1-3. H-1024 Budapest) where the course will be held. Accommodation is included in the tuition fee for maximum 4 nights. Please send us your travel schedule so that the room arrangements can be made in due course. ERRA is not responsible for alternative hotel arrangements.

Will ERRA make my travel arrangements?

No, participants are responsible for making their travel arrangements to and from the course location and send in their travel schedule to ERRA so that hotel arrangements can be made.

Do I need to arrange my own transportation to and from the airport?

Yes. All participants are responsible for arranging and paying for transportation to and from the European Youth Center Budapest (EYCB), (Zivatar u. 1-3., H-1024 Budapest) for their arrival and departure. Please read detailed information on how to get to the EYCB here: http://www.erranet.org/Training/Intermediate_Advanced_Training/Price_Regulation_and_Tariffs_2008/Accommodation_Information

When should I arrive to the program?

Participants normally arrive over the weekend, Saturday (March 15) or Sunday (March 16) before the course, in order to be on time for the Monday morning session.

Where do I go on the first day of the course?

The Meeting Rooms where the Training Course for the 2 tracks will be held are located on the 4th Level of the European Youth Center Budapest (EYCB). You will receive the Program and the Participant List of the Training Course as soon as they are finalized. Will breakfast and lunch be provided as part of the course?

The breakfast is included in your accommodation rate and is served in the restaurant located on the Ground Floor of the Centre. Set lunches and coffee breaks served during the Course are included in ERRA's tuition price.

Can I schedule professional meetings outside of the course?

ERRA encourages course participants to make use of their trips for other professional meetings. A training day normally consists of a morning (8:00 am -12:00 pm) and an afternoon (2:00 -6:00 pm) session. These times may differ to accommodate site visits and exercises. You can schedule your professional meetings during lunch break from 12:00 am to 2:00 pm or after 6:00 pm.

Does ERRA provide computers as part of the course tuition fee?

No. But a small computer room exists on the 4th Level of the Center. We encourage that you bring your note book to Budapest.

Will I have Internet access?

The Meeting Rooms and the Lobby on the 4th Level are equipped with wireless internet access. Unfortunately free wireless internet access is not available in the sleeping rooms.

Will there be opportunities for sightseeing and other social events?

Yes. ERRA organizes a social event for participants on Wednesday, March 19 that includes a sightseeing tour by bus and a group dinner. Participants are also provided with information on cultural activities and sightseeing opportunities that they can pursue during leisure time in a Welcome Letter to be sent out a week prior to the start date of the Training Course.

Will I get a certificate?

The ERRA will be able to provide its course participants with a Certificate of Attendance upon completion of their course.
