Letter from the Chairman

Welcome to the 2nd Energy Regulation and Investment Conference organized by the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA)!

If you attended the last year’s event, you already know that the ERRA Conference is designed to provide power sector professionals with the opportunity to interact with senior energy regulators from the CEE and CIS region and learn about the investment and regulatory climate of these countries. Indeed, the Conference has become a meeting point for regulators and other participants of the energy sector.

This year’s Conference features four major themes, challenges faced by all the participants of the energy industry. These topics will be addressed in plenary sessions, panel discussions and innovative concurrent sessions.
* Private Participation in the Energy Sector
* Competition in the Electricity and Gas Markets
* Regional Electricity Trade
* Pricing Policies
The Networking Session of the Conference will provide participants with a unique opportunity to have a personal meeting with energy regulators from a country of their special interest. Regulators from 17 countries in the CEE/CIS region will be available for individual discussions and consultations. In addition to these highlights, the Conference will feature a Welcome Reception on May 7 and a special Danube River Cruise Reception on May 8. These events combined with the conference discussions promise you ample opportunity to network with regulators and industry alike.

My special thanks to the ERRA Member organizations for their continuous support, to our Sponsors and the U.S. Agency for International Development for their technical and financial assistance.

Dr. Péter Kaderják
Chairman
Energy Regulators Regional Association
