  • 93.72% of shares of all electric companies belong to the Government
Natural Gas
Market structure: vertically integrated state-owned company "Kyrgyznetftegas" and JSC «Kyrgyzgaz» responsible for production, transmission and distribution, JV “KyrKAGaz” – a transporting company through high pressure trunk line.
Summary
  • The State Department is led by Director who is appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic on the proposal of the Minister of Industry, Energy and Fuel Resources of the KR.
  • Director has a Deputy Director who is appointed and dismissed by the Minister of for Industry, Energy and Fuel Resources ont he proposal of the Director of the Sate Department.
  • The Agency is responsible for setting gas, electric, heat and hot water tariffs, for licensing and setting economically justified, socially acceptable, and nondiscriminatory prices .
  • The Agency financed from the national budget. After the legislation is amended, the main source of funding would be fees from licensed enterprises.
